I bought a Lenova Aspire E15 (E5-574) the other twenty-four hour period and I'm getting extremely low download speeds. I have a 75/75 Fios Internet Connection and my two desktops attain those speeds. However, this laptop is running at max download 6mbs on the speedtest site I apply. Mostly between ane and 2mbs. The upload speed is high as y'all can meet in the prototype @ 35mbs.

I checked the power settings and its gear up to maximum functioning. I've removed all the bloatware from the computer to the best of my cognition. Its an Intel System so it doesn't have the AMD Quickstream that I have read about slowing download speeds. Have used windows update and everything has been installed from that. Additionally, I downloaded Acer Care Middle to ensure all drivers where up to appointment.

This is my speed on the laptop when I plug it in directly:

WTF??? Seriously.

Organisation basics:
Intel i5 @ 2.3GHz
6gb Ram
1TB HDD

I also take FiOS 75/75, and during this last install, I asked the installer guy about this specifically.
They won't fifty-fifty start to diagnose WiFi issues unless at that place is direct line of sight between router and PC, in the same room.

This is from my Asus Transformer, WiFi in the same room every bit the FiOS router. Most 15 feet abroad.

How far away from your router are you? Laptop built in Wifi isn't the greatest, and are you lot continued to a 2.4Ghz ring or 5Ghz band? What material are the walls and floors of your house made of? Concrete kills wifi like a truck kills a smartcar.

WiFi speed doesn't count, unless it is literally in the same room.

Confused...

Yous verified it works fast with ETHERNET and slow with Wi-Fi.

That ways you demand a better wi-fi adapter for the laptop.

*I believe the DOWNLOAD is and so low considering the wi-fi adapter isn't receiving the signal actually well. The UPLOAD stays high because the ROUTER has a good receiver in it.

If you haven't, try the laptop with direct line-of-sight to the router and see how that changes the numbers.

(my best guess, though the numbers do seem too low for a new laptop. I go over 30Mbps down two floors with a cheap USB wi-fi adapter).

Okay, I'd say either it's lacking which seems unlikely or the upload should be afflicted likewise, or there'south some software glitch though I can't think what.

Y'all need a different wi-fi device equally well to confirm the ROUTER is properly receiving signals. We confirmed it can Ship them fine.

I'm gonna second the new adapter thing. My HP has wireless that'due south worthless, I employ it for work, and information technology has trouble connecting anywhere I go, put a 10$ adapter in it and information technology's been cute ever since. The congenital in wifi adapters in laptops are usually a joke, and you can go a USB adapter that'due south halfway decent for a fairly depression amount of money, information technology will salve you a headache in the long run, and it's ever good to have a backup in example similar in your case, the internal sux.

I'g having the exact same problem and recall it's related to the Windows10 OS. I ran an hour long Windows update and that seemed...accepting all the updates, simply information technology's still besides slow...just speedtest.cyberspace did hit 20 Mbps a few times...even so think something isn't correct, only that helped some...just it'southward a existent crappy way to receive a new computer and Acer Help was useless. ..thinking well-nigh reloading the thing to Windows 7..

I'thousand having the exact same problem and think it'southward related to the Windows10 Bone. I ran an 60 minutes long Windows update and that seemed...accepting all the updates, but it's still too slow...but speedtest.net did hit xx Mbps a few times...however think something isn't correct, but that helped some...only it's a real crappy mode to receive a new calculator and Acer Assistance was useless. ..thinking about reloading the thing to Windows 7..

I don't recommend using W7. W10 volition continue to get better, and there's no guarantee W7 won't accept its own issues, especially as time goes on and support for it wanes.

Also, as a new calculator you may even lose some laptop-specific features though for nigh people it's not a large issue. For case, some keys are linked to the screen through added software which you lot'd wipe off going to W7.

*One interesting affair to endeavor is get a modern Linux distro like the latest Linux Mint, burn to a USB thumb drive so kick to it (may have to get into the BIOS and kicking directly or modify boot society so USB is first).

Y'all can then see if their default drivers work any different.

This way y'all aren't installing anything.
